Moose killed in collision with cop car

TALKEETNA, Alaska, July 15 (UPI) -- The Alaska State Patrol said a trooper sustained minor injuries and a moose was killed when the trooper's car collided with the animal.

Part the moose smashed its way into the vehicle after Trooper Shayne Calt's patrol car collided with the best on Talkeetna Spur Road in Talkeetna, Alaska, the Anchorage Daily News reported Monday.

Calt was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. His 2007 Ford Crown Victoria patrol car sustained major damage after a hind quarter of the moose crashed into the front passenger seat.

The moose was salvaged by a local charity.
